Hola from Barcelona

Day 2 Tuesday 10 September which just happens to be Mark’s birthday.

We are loving the warm weather, colours and history of this stunning city.

Still haven’t got the body clock ‘on time’ yet and life is too short for a siesta when we’ve come such a long way! Today we used our time wisely with the hop-on hop-off tourist bus. It’s a bit cheezy but definitely got us oriented to the layout of the city. We firmed up more bookings in the days ahead. We’ve booked a 4 hour guided e-bike tour for Friday taking us through the Gothic Quarter and Park Güell 🚴🏻‍♂️🚴‍♀️.

Sagrada Familia tomorrow (Thursday). I found my favourite fashion designer (Desigual) which expresses all the brightness of Spain to me and purchased my one souvenir t-shirt and treasured scarf to add to my collection. Marc found a piano and some Spanish ‘fans’! Music and humour follow us everywhere and the tourists on the bus today provided us with some good local intel.

The shower has some serious slip and trips risks and the shower head falls on us. I’ve done a WHS assessment… let’s see how that goes. References to Faulty Towers accepted.

Here’s some photo highlights. Planning a quiet rest day somewhere ahead for blogging but not quite sure if that is realistic given the number of exciting things to do in this spectacular city. We have this perfect view into the city of little balconies. We love the light and agree with genius of Antoni Gaudi who says the best light is 45degrees.

More to follow.
